We’re on a mission to get Scotland driving electric
ChargePlace Scotland is Scotland’s national Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network. We’re owned and have been developed by the Scottish Government, and funded in partnership through a public grant from Local Authorities and other organisations.
We’re aiming to make owning an EV accessible for all Scottish drivers with charge points located across Scotland – from Shetland to the Scottish borders.
Our network has grown from 55 public charge points in 2013 to over 2,600 in 2023. You can see all of our publicly available chargers and their status on our live map – where you can also see type and availability.
We’re growing our network all the time, with new charge points installed regularly with the ongoing support of Transport Scotland – all to offer our members more charging places, more ways to save money and more benefits.
How we are measured – Key Performance Indicators
ChargePlace Scotland operate the network of electric vehicle chargers on behalf of Transport Scotland. Network performance is continually monitored and reported on periodically to Transport Scotland. The most important measures are known as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and details of these can be found in the following tables. Table 1 sets out the KPIs pertinent to all users and stakeholders.
- ChargePoint Commissioning
- Customer Service
- Fault Management
Additional KPIs are in place that relate to charge point owners only, regarding:
- Charge Point Tariffs
- Charge Point Owner Service
- Fault Management
- Database Management
We understand buying an EV can be a new experience, and to assist you with this, we have set up a help centre to answer frequently asked questions. Our network is supported by a 24-hour 365 day a year helpline for our members.
