Trees for Life is a charity dedicated to rewilding the Scottish Highlands. Their mission is to restore the Caledonian Forest, once a vast, thriving ecosystem filled with native trees, abundant wildlife, and rich plant life. After centuries of deforestation, only small, isolated fragments remain. Trees for Life is working to change that, one restored landscape at a time.

What Trees for Life Does

Their projects focus on rebuilding a healthy, resilient natural environment by:

  • Planting native trees such as Scots Pine, Rowan, Birch, Aspen, and Juniper
  • Restoring habitats so species like Red Squirrels, Pine Martens, and Golden Eagles can return and thrive
  • Rewilding degraded landscapes to support biodiversity, improve soil health, and strengthen ecological resilience
  • Creating nature recovery sites, including the flagship Dundreggan Estate, where depleted land is being transformed into flourishing woodland

Scotland’s EV Drivers Making a Difference

Thanks to the generosity of Scotland’s EV drivers, an impressive £94,681.07 has been raised to support these vital rewilding efforts. Every pound contributes directly to planting and protecting native trees, restoring damaged landscapes, and helping wildlife return to healthy Scottish woodlands.

This achievement was made possible through the partnership between ChargePlace Scotland and Evolt Charging (powered by SWARCO), who operate the ChargePlace Scotland network and facilitated the donation process. This collaboration has helped ensure that the contributions made by EV drivers could reach Trees for Life and support meaningful environmental restoration across the Highlands.

A Greener Future, Powered by Community

Scotland’s EV community is already contributing to a cleaner, low-carbon future by choosing to drive electric. Their support for Trees for Life adds another layer to this positive impact by directly helping restore wild forests, rebuild habitats, and strengthen Scotland’s natural heritage for generations to come.
