ChargePlace Scotland provides a simple and convenient way for EV drivers to travel across Scotland with access to a range of charging facilities. Drivers can access charge points by using a ChargePlace Scotland access card or the Charge Your Car smartphone app. To find out more information about the network, please visit our help centre.
Low-cost and flexible charging options
ChargePlace Scotland network members benefit from significant money-saving and EV charging benefits as many of our charge points offer a free tariff and a range of charging options are available. If any issues occur, network members can access our 24/7 Helpline by calling 0141 648 0750.
To register for the network, you will need to provide your contact and vehicle details along with your bank details. Click “join us now” to register for a ChargePlace Scotland account.
Step 1 – Create an account
Register online with ChargePlace Scotland (CPS) by filling in the driver sign up form. Once this is complete, you can sign in to your CPS portal and order an access card. Your portal can be used to manage your details and view your charging and payment history.
Step 2 – Register your bank details*
Before you can order and use an access card you will need to sign in to your portal to register your bank details for charging session pre-authorisation. If you register via the website, this will be in the form of a direct debit. If you register via the Charge Your Car app, this will be in the form of debit or credit card details.
Step 3 – Purchase an Access Card
Once you have registered and added a payment method, you can order an RFID access card, allowing you to access all CPS charge points. An initial cost of £20 applies to order an access card, which is renewed annually. Once payment for your ChargePlace Scotland access card has been received, it should arrive within 5-10 business days of being despatched.
Step 4 – Charge Your Car
